Book Excerpt :

Victor Faust’s new Order is growing. Business is good as there is no rest for the wicked in an underground world of hardcore criminals and contract killing. Relationships among the operatives have changed little over the past year—but things are about to change now, and all six high-ranking members of the new Order will be blindsided by an unlikely enemy. Loved ones whose only ties to Victor’s organization are their relationships with its members, are abducted. The price to get them back safely—the six must confess their deepest, darkest secret to this mysterious young woman named Nora, who is as deadly as she is beautiful, and who seems to know more about each of them than they know about each other. And although no one has any clue about who Nora really is, it becomes clear that she also isn’t who she appears to be. So much more is at stake than secrets and the lives of innocent loved ones; with each member that Nora forces to confess, the truth about their dark pasts and their present objectives will cast suspicion, pit some against each other, and may tear others apart. Before the game is over everyone will know who this woman is and why she is here, but the damage she will leave in her wake could be the beginning of the new Order’s destruction. Whose dark secret will be the darkest of all? And can Victor’s Order survive any of them?

Book Short Summary:

Entering the body of Christ and the church, as a "babe in Christ," I recognized immediately that what I had imagined and believed the church to be I was not experiencing. Instead, quite the contrary, as I never experienced the unconditional love of God the Bible spoke about and that I had come to expect. Coming straight from prison, saved, set free, redeemed, delivered, and sober, I desired to put on my superwoman cape, fly around, and save the whole world, testifying to them how Jesus had changed my life and delivered me from a fifteen-year life on the streets, with addictions to drugs and alcohol and a death sentence. I was gung ho and ready to go, super excited about my salvation, and compelled to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the world. However, I had no idea that I was in for a very rude awakening not being introduced to the true church that Jesus Christ Himself built without walls or distinctions. On the contrary, I became indoctrinated by its very evil and wicked counterfeit counterpart, meaning, religious organizations that men built with its traditions and ceremonies of men designed to destroy the spirit and send souls directly where I was heading--to hell from the pews. And if that was not enough, they hated my guts! I witnessed persons having been in the church thirty and forty years but looked nothing like Jesus, and nothing had changed in their lives. They were still as mean as a junkyard bulldog, jealous, gossiping, and ready to do evil. I knew that these were not churches built by God and that I could never fit in. Therefore, I spent over twenty-three years searching to understand what the full truth of salvation is, the finished works of the cross, who I am, and the purpose of it all.

Book Short Summary:

Who are enemies of the cross, and who are defenders of the faith? In Defense of the Cross of Christ is a wake-up call to sleeping Christians who keep hitting the conviction snooze button of God’s command for obedience and holiness through His grace that compels us and equips us to personify Jesus in selfless love. In Defense of the Cross of Christ is an uncompromising warning to church leaders who have invaded the church with humanistic thinking and become stumbling blocks for babes in Christ while deceiving others to follow their pernicious ways of iniquity and to rejoice in it. Over a decade in preparation, In Defense of the Cross of Christ is now ready for you. The question is, are you ready for it? “I know of no other current author who addresses the issue of iniquity among the body of Christ as clearly and concisely as it is dealt with in this work. Just as importantly, I testify that the words written have the testimony of the Spirit by the demonstration of a life lived by the principles here taught.” —Corey Dawes, Father’s Honor Ministry “With passion and conviction, Steven has presented an excellent defense of the cross. Through Scripture and his insight, the reader is drawn to move away from elementary teachings of Scripture and toward deeper water by allowing the love of Christ to guide every decision of their lives. In Defense of the Cross of Christ is intended for slow digestion so the reader may obtain the full nutrients it contains.” —Kevin Clouse, pastor and writer, First Church of God

Book Short Summary:

This is the extended and annotated edition including * an extensive biographical annotation about the author and his life In any commentary on a portion of the Old Testament by a writer unacquainted with Hebrew, exact criticism, and freedom from mistake, must not be expected. But the Psalms have been so in the mouth and in the heart of God’s people in all languages, that it has been necessary often to find an explanation suitable to imperfect translations. And no doubt it is intended that we should use such explanations for the purpose of edification, when we are unable to be more accurate, though in proving doctrine it is necessary always to remember and allow for any want of acquaintance with the original, or uncertainty with respect to its actual meaning. However, the main scope and bearing of the text is rarely affected by such points as vary in different translations, and the analogy of the faith is sufficient to prevent a Catholic 4 mind from adopting any error in consequence of a text seeming to bear a heterodox meaning. Perhaps the errors of translation in the existing versions may have led the Fathers to adopt rules of interpretation ranging too far from the simple and literal; but having such translations, they could hardly use them otherwise. Meanwhile St. Augustin will be found to excel in the intense apprehension of those great truths which pervade the whole of Sacred Writ, and in the vivid and powerful exposition of what bears upon them. It is hardly possible to read his practical and forcible applications of Holy Scripture, without feeling those truths by the faith of which we ought to live brought home to the heart in a wonderful manner. His was a mind that strove earnestly to solve the great problems of human life, and after exhausting the resources, and discovering the emptiness, of erroneous systems, found truth and rest at last in Catholic Christianity, in the religion of the Bible as expounded by St. Ambrose. And though we must look to his Confessions for the full view of all his cravings after real good, and their ultimate satisfaction, yet throughout his works we have the benefit of the earnestness with which he sought to feed on the “sincere milk of the word.”

Book Short Summary:

The Gospel of Pseudo-Matthew is one of the most important witnesses in Western Europe to apocryphal stories about the lives of Mary, Joseph, Jesus, and Mary's parents, Anna and Joachim. As a bestseller of mainstream medieval Christianity, this Latin apocryphon is a keystone in the explosion of apocryphal literature in the Middle Ages. Despite its apocryphal status, The Gospel of Pseudo-Matthew remained both popular and influential throughout the Middle Ages and into the early modern period, as its popularity and influences may be traced in Christian literature, visual arts, liturgy, and theological perspectives still revered by Roman Catholic theologians. The gospel is also a significant work for considering the history of monasticism and the cult of the Virgin Mary. This book presents the first English translation of the Gospel of Pseudo-Matthew with a full introduction and commentary, as well as translations of related works with accompanying commentaries.

Book Short Summary:

"The Council of Nicaea in 325 AD marked the beginning of a new era in Christianity. For the first time, doctrines were organized into a single creed. The Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers did most of their writing during and after this important event in Church history. Unlike the previous era of Christian writing, the Nicene and Post-Nicene era is dominated by a few very important and prolific writers. In Volume VIII of the 14-volume collected writings of the Nicenes and Post-Nicenes (first published between 1886 and 1889), readers will find Saint Augustines extensive treatment of the Psalms. Augustine took this book from the Old Testament and wove into it the revelation of Jesus as the savior of humanity. Through the skill of Augustine, it seems as though the Psalms had been written by an oracle who knew that eventually the messiah would come and wrote to pave the way. This volume is a valuable reference book for any Christian wishing to have the psalms illuminated and explained."

Most of us have heard the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and WHAT they did? Even more importantly, what Eve DID with the serpent, but not WHY she did it and WHY the serpent targeted her? In this book we talk about the "WHY" and the purpose behind this happening to her. Who is the woman and why her? She has been chosen for a far greater purpose than what we've seen. She has a much-needed voice to be heard. It's time to hear all sides of the story and for her to tell her side. She has the right to be heard, and not just "Be Silent!" She will be vindicated for all the right reasons. There's a much bigger picture here and a story that must be told! The enemy has proven from the beginning how much he hates marriage, love, unity and family. It's not by chance we have such an attack on the family structure. The first thing the devil did, was to divide Eve and Adam. God adds and multiplies, while this enemy subtracts and divides. God gives life, the relationship and family, the enemy takes life, the relationship and the family. Divorce and chaos are on the rise. This enemy is after your covenant, joy and peace. The enemy understands the woman has been given the power (glory) to give life, to build relationships and he targeted her to tear down her life and to help him build his kingdom. How long will the woman be silent? War or peace starts in the household before it hits the community, nation and ultimately the world. World wars started in a thought...the mind...in a room. Satan is going for the mind. We're on the brink of something much greater than we may care to admit, or acknowledgment, but it's here! With record breaking numbers, even in a pandemic! Women are becoming the new face to leaders of this modern world in which we live. To ignore facts, of a power much greater than her own that's driving her, we would be foolish, to say the least. It's as though something is in a hurry to establish her in power. She has come so far, but still, there's so much more work to do. In this book are some acknowledgments of Great Women Achievements throughout history. Amazingly, throughout history she has been the target for rejection and abuse. While being the "Apple of God's Eye" she's still just an "Object" of someone else's desire. Woman you have come a long way, it's your time. Know your place! Don't allow anyone to use you as steps for only them to rise, leaving you down and under. The Woman is Lucifer's replacement! The greatest work God has ever done is hidden in her because she was made to produce. It is that creation! "God's Masterpiece" from heaven! She is destined for greatness she always has been. Now, we are seeing the fulfillment of prophesy of her being put in her proper place to lead. Which is above and not beneath. We are in desperate need for Great Leadership. Man has always tried to put her in her place according to what they thought that might be BUT God always had a place for her. From, the beginning God created her from greatness for greatness. This SPECIAL EDITION will highlight some of the events stemming from COVID-19 and its variants. We are all challenged to embrace a new normal because what used to be normal regrettably has become nothing more than a memory. History has proven that we are more receptable of change when we face tragedy. God has always been with us. Let "Why I Satan Hate The Woman" take you on a journey.

Book Short Summary:

In the last few years, 9/11, a tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and many other tragedies have shown us that the vision of God in today's churches in relation to evil and suffering is often frivolous. Against the overwhelming weight and seriousness of the Bible, many Christians are choosing to become more shallow, more entertainment-oriented, and therefore irrelevant in the face of massive suffering. In Suffering and the Sovereignty of God, contributors John Piper, Joni Eareckson Tada, Steve Saint, Carl Ellis, David Powlison, Dustin Shramek, and Mark Talbot explore the many categories of God's sovereignty as evidenced in his Word. They urge readers to look to Christ, even in suffering, to find the greatest confidence, deepest comfort, and sweetest fellowship they have ever known.

Book Short Summary:

The Testament of Levi, like the other Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs, is considered to be a Jewish work that was added to by Christians in the Christian era. It is unclear when it comes from, however, fragments of the Testaments of Joseph and Levi have been found among the Dead Sea Scrolls in Aramaic, dating to between 135 and 37 BC, implying the rest of the Twelve were compiled at the same time. The Testament of Levi also refers to the Book of Enoch, an Aramaic Second Temple era work that was not included in the Septuagint, which implies it was written around the same time as the Books of Daniel and Enoch, which would date it to anywhere between 300 and 100 BC. The surviving copies of the Testament of Levi contain multiple layers of prophecy that was once accepted as being authentic pre-Christian predictions of the coming of Jesus Christ. This view shifted in Western Europe during the Protestant reformation, and the text was assumed to be a Christian era work, and generally dismissed as a forgery. This view shifted by the 1900s, as an Semitic layer of text was found within it that indicated it was originally a pre-Christian work that was later Christianized, and it was then assumed to be a Pharisee work that the Christians had added all the prophecies to. Since the discovery of fragments of the testament have been found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, dating to between 135 and 37 BC, and written in Aramaic, the Pharisee theory has been discredited. The Dead Sea Scrolls fragments have also shown that some of the prophecies were present in the Aramaic texts by 37 BC, meaning that the Christians had simply added to the prophecies to indicate they were about Jesus. The original work appears to be an anti-Levitical text, which dismissed the Levitical priesthood, and pointed to an alternative priesthood. As this was not a Samaritan text, it was likely a text written by the Tobian Jews mentioned in 2nd Maccabees, that lived in Seleucid controlled regions.

Liv Arias thought she'd never return to Long Acre—until a documentary brings her and the other survivors back home. Suddenly her old flame, Finn Dorsey, is closer than ever, and their attraction is still white-hot. When a searing kiss reignites their passion, Liv realizes this rough-around-the-edges cop might be exactly what she needs... Liv's words cut off as Finn got closer. Book Short Summary:

The Book of Psalms, even if it is, properly speaking, the third part of the Old Testament, as Our Lord says in Luke 24:44, “all things must needs be fulfilled which are written in the law of Moses and in the prophets and in the psalms, concerning me,” nevertheless is also a sort of summation or as it were a compendium of all of Sacred Scripture. For the Book of Psalms contains accounts from sacred history, as is evident from Psalms 77, 103, 104 and others; it contains many very plain prophetic oracles, as is evident from Psalms 2, 21, 44, 60 and others; it contains laws and precepts, as is evident in Psalm 118; it contains “hagiographa” in almost all the Psalms, that is, exhortations to virtue, discouragement from vice, threats, promises, examples, remedies for vices, divine praises, prayers to God, in short a complete, natural, moral and supernatural theology. Book Short Summary:

Jesus said, "...for this cause I came". He came to die for our sins. If Jesus had not done what He was sent to do, then He could not set captivity free. In other words, Jesus said I go to prepare a place for you. Anif I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and get you so you will be with me always. Accept a corn of wheat falls to the ground and dies it remains alone. You see, if Jesus had not died to atone our sins, we would remain unfit for the Kingdom. Because no whoremonger, adulterer, fornicator, drunkard, nor idolater will see Heaven. No, absolutely no sinner will see the Kingdom of God. Jesus said I must go first and make ready a place for you in my Father's house where there are many mansions. And after I have accomplished that, I will come back for you and take you back with me and we will spend eternity together. Jesus is the seed that fell from the Master's hand. The sower, who is the father and the husbandman, sows the seed which is the Word of God. The word then becomes flesh and dwells amongst us and we behold the only begotten Son of God full of glory whose name is the word of God. A seed alone in your hand will only stay a seed. But if you sow that seed, plant that seed. You will then see that seed produce and bring forth a harvest that will give birth to a multitude of seeds. And now that seed that was alone in your hand is no longer alone. It is surrounded by a family of other seeds just like itself. Accept the seed falls to the ground and dies it will remain alone. Jesus, who is the seed's purpose for falling to the earth, was to die. He didn't come to earth to go back to heaven alone. He's coming back to get this Church who will be without spot or wrinkle.
